I am just finishing up a 10 day pre-holiday cleanse and am seriously craving some warm hearty food. Today being my last day, I wanted to make an epic finale meal to end it right! Surprisingly, I have never tried making veggie burgers before, so when I came across Young and Raw’srecipe for this simple, raw burger I had to try it.
I modified their recipe slightly, but they took me less than 10 minutes to prepare and are so FREAKING delicious! Even the hubby went back for seconds!
Raw Vegan Burger
2 cups walnuts – soaked overnight ahead of time
1 cup ground chia
1/2 cup celery
1/2 cup carrots
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1 cup freshly rinsed parsley
1 tbsp braggs aminos
Place all ingredients into food processor and blend until it is finely ground up and you can form it into balls easily.
Roll out into 1.5″ balls and flatten out on a non-stick dehydrator sheet. Should make about 10 burger patties.
Dehydrate for 6 hours at 105° F.
Top with your favorite burger toppings and wrap in a lettuce wrap bun! Goes really well with aCreamy Kale Salad on the side.
Notes: You can freeze the left over burger patties and reheat them in the dehydrator. To reheat, remove them from the freezer the morning you plan to eat them. Warm them back up at 105° F in the dehydrator for about an hour or two before enjoying them.
